The days are just starting to "draw" out and Spring is on the way. The first ewes are due to lamb in early February and some of the "older ladies" are enjoying a little pampering indoors away from any chilly wind and rain. The "tups" (rams) have now been taken up and can spend the rest of the year until September relaxing and grazing as they wish - what a life!
The dairy cows calve all year round and recent new births have been Friesian calves and also some Friesian cross Beef Shorthorn calves. Their dad is known as "Yobi" a strawberry roan beef shorthorn bull who can be seen roaming round with his ladies! The cows and youngstock are all indoors until April / May when they will return to the fields for the Summer months.
At the present time on the farm Malcolm and James are spending most of their time feeding hungry mouths, repairing walls, hedging and general maintenance and of course spreading that wonderful manure on the fields - great for growing the grass!

We are very pleased to announce that once again Lundholme Farm cottages have been inspected by the VisitBritain - Quality in Tourism Assessor and have continued to maintain their 4 Star Self-Catering award.
Inspectors comments: The cottages offer comfortable and well presented accommodation in a quiet rural area on a working farm. The properties are well placed to visit Lancashire, Lake District, the Forest of Bowland and of course the Yorkshire Dales. The owners live on site and are available to greet the guests and provide any help or advice necessary. The properties have their own patio areas and tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Wonderful break staying in both cottages, weather was kind and walks were great for people and dogs! Beautiful place in a beautiful location and so relaxing! Great for catching up with the family for special birthdays. We will most certainly be visiting again as it is a central location for both sets of family. Don't want to go home!
